Refund Policy
Effective date: October 20, 2026
This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for paid LectureHelper plans. It is part of our Terms of Use. If something here does not match what happened to you, write to us. We would rather fix a problem than argue about it.
1.The Free plan
The Free plan costs nothing and does not ask for a card. You can try LectureHelper on real lectures before you decide to pay.
2.How paid plans renew
Paid plans are subscriptions. A monthly plan renews every month and a yearly plan renews every year, until you cancel. Each renewal is charged to the card you used, at the price shown when you subscribed, unless we told you about a price change in advance (see section 11).
Before a yearly plan renews, we email you a reminder with the date and the amount.
3.How to cancel
You can cancel online at any time, in a few clicks: sign in, open your account, and choose Manage subscription. You do not need to call or write to us.
When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. After that, your account moves to the Free plan and you are not charged again. Your saved lectures stay in your account.
4.Refunds for your first payment
If you are not happy with LectureHelper, you can get a full refund of your first payment for a plan if both are true:
- you ask within 7 days of that payment, and
- you used less than 2 hours of transcription after that payment.
5.Refunds for yearly plans
For a yearly plan, you can get a full refund if you ask within 14 days of the yearly charge, including an automatic renewal, and you used less than 2 hours of transcription after that charge.
After 14 days, yearly payments are not refunded. Your plan stays active until the end of the paid year.
6.Monthly payments after the first one
We do not give partial refunds for the rest of a month you already started. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of that month.
7.Billing mistakes
We always give a full refund when the mistake is ours, for example:
- you were charged twice for the same period;
- you were charged for a different plan than the one you chose;
- you were charged after you had already cancelled.
8.Problems on our side
If a technical problem on our side keeps you from using LectureHelper for a large part of a billing period, or a feature we advertise does not work as described, contact us. We will make it right with extra time on your plan or a partial refund.
9.Before you dispute a charge with your bank
Please write to us first. Most problems can be solved within a few days, and a bank dispute usually takes weeks. This does not take away any right you have to dispute a charge with your bank. While a dispute is open, we may pause your paid plan; your Free plan and your saved lectures stay available.
10.How to ask for a refund
Email lecturehelper.app@gmail.com with the subject Refund request and the email address of your LectureHelper account. We reply within 3 business days.
Approved refunds go back to the card you paid with, through our payment processor, Stripe. If that card is closed or expired, we will work with you to find another way to return the money. Your bank may take 5 to 10 business days to show the refund.
Refunds are not available for accounts closed because of a serious violation of our Terms of Use, except where the law requires a refund.
11.Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters to you, we will email active subscribers at least 30 days before the change takes effect. A change never applies to a payment you made before it.
12.Your rights under the law
Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under the law where you live.
